At Den Braven one of our current focusses is on silylated urethane and silylated polyether based products. Silylated urethane based hybrids have been developed to extend the property range of the conventional polyurethane sealant. Silylated polyether based hybrids provide low viscosity, low glass transition temperature, flexibility over a wide temperature range, and low odour. In general hybrids are free of isocyanates, solvents and silicones.

These days, polyurethane and silicone sealants are seen as high performance products. They adhere very well, provide good movement capability and are durable. However, these high performance products also had limitations and disadvantages. Den Braven’s hybrid sealants are actually the “Newest High Performance Products”. We have developed the current portfolio of hybrids and have managed to keep the advantages and eliminate the disadvantages of the “older high performance” products.

Den Braven’s new generation high performance sealants are hybrid based. Hybrid polymers have better weathering characteristics than conventional polyurethane sealants, but without the odour and unpaintability of conventional silicone sealants. Den Braven’s new generation high performance sealants provide better adhesion, abrasion resistance and lower temperature loss than silicone sealants. Den Braven’s new generation high performance sealants are also isocyanate and solvent-free systems.
