The choice of roofing materials is vast. We can roughly distinguish roofs in 2 types, pitched roofs and flat roofs. Both roof types use different materials. Pitched roofs use ceramic or concrete roof tiles, slates, singles and in a few cases, reed/straw is used. In recent years we have seen an increase of synthetic based roofing tiles.

For flat roofs bituminous based roofing felts were the preferred choice of material. Nowadays technologies such as EPDM, TPO and PVC are making their debut as flat roofing felts.
