Façade
The French term façade comes from the old Italian word “faccia”, which means face. The face of the building, the façade, often is a stylish and well-designed part that shows the building’s architectural aesthetics.
However, the function of this building goes far beyond aesthetics. The façade is essential for protecting the interior from the outside elements and to maintain the energy performance of the interior to keep it safe and comfortable. This is why Den Braven is happy to share its knowledge with you. Knowledge with a focus on solutions that help you optimise the shell of the building. This is used first of all to extend the building’s life span, to create a more pleasant indoor climate, but also to meet the wish to pursue sustainability and to save on energy costs.
The function of the façade is, architectural aesthetics, energy performance, moisture, air and water infiltration, controlling/providing ingress of light and providing a comfortable living environment within the interior. The Den Braven‘s portfolio Air Tight Building Solutions & Passive Housing is part of the Den Braven ‘s façade portfolio. However, due to the importance of this subject, Den Braven does have a dedicated market segment landing page: Air Tight Building Solutions & Passive Housing.
Openings are deliberately left or created in the shell of a building to provide room for doors and windows. These openings disrupt the façade function in terms of energy performance and keeping out air, water and moisture. To seal the connections to these disrupting openings in the shell of a building in the best possible way, Den Braven can support you with the right product choice, the correct joint dimensions and the best application method to be used. All of the Den Braven façade sealants have the required CE markings according to EN15651-1. For you, this is the guarantee that these products will be suitable for their application. A selection of the most widely used products is presented on this page.
